FA Cup Final
Arsenal 1 Sheffield United 0
History
Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers were both relegated after spending 44 seasons in the Top Division. They were the last of the League's founder members to be relegated and by coincidence they went down in the same year.
Arsenal equalled Aston Villa's record of winning trophies in four consecutive seasons. Their opponents in the FA Cup final were Sheffield United, who were the 10th second level club to appear in the final.
