History
Liverpool won a record 9th League Championship. In their final match they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3 - 1 away, condeming them to relegation and pipping Queens Park Rangers by a point. They also won the UEFA Cup, repeating their Championship and European trophy double of 1973.
Southampton won the FA Cup as a second level club only three seasons after Sunderland.
