Huddersfield Town became the first club to win the Championship for three consecutive seasons.
Manchester City reached the FA Cup final and were also relegated. They were above Leeds United and Burnley and needed only to draw their final game to stay up. They lost 2 - 3 at Newcastle United after missing a penalty while Leeds United and Burnley both won 4 - 1.
