History
Barnsley became the third second level club to win the FA Cup. This was only two years after their first appearance in the final, again as a second level club.
This was the third successive year that the FA Cup final had gone to a replay. The FA introduced Extra Time for the first match in a final. No replay in a final would be required until 1970.
