History
Liverpool won their first trophy, the League Championship. They would eventually become the most successful club of the modern era.
Tottenham Hotspur became the first (and only) non-League club to win the FA Cup since the beginning of the League. They became the first London club to win a trophy since football became professional.
The relegation of Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion left only five founder members of the League which had not been relegated.
