Afrikaans Language Notes
Afrikaans is an Indo-European language spoken in South Africa and Namibia.
The most infamous word from this language is "apartheid", which spawned a political system where voting rights depended on skin colour. Several animal words and the historical term "trek" (originally applied to a journey in wagons) complete the set of words.
